save from your phone
Put Dogear in your phone's share menu, so any page in Safari, YouTube, or a newsletter app is one tap from your archive.
iPhone and iPad
iOS doesn't let web apps join the share menu, but a Shortcut can, and there's one ready to add:
add “save to dogear” to shortcuts
Open this page in Safari on your iPhone and tap the button. Then tap the download (or open it from Files → Downloads) and tap Add Shortcut.
or build it yourself
- Open the Shortcuts app, tap +, and name the shortcut Save to Dogear.
- Tap the ⓘ (details) button, turn on Show in Share Sheet, and set it to accept URLs and Safari web pages.
- Add the action URL Encode and give it the Shortcut Input.
- Add the action Open URLs and type
https://dogear.fyi/share?url=, then insert the URL Encoded Text right after it.
Now tap Share on any page and pick Save to Dogear. It opens Dogear in Safari: if the link is already here you can dogear and tag it, otherwise you can post it with a one-line reason.
Sign in to Dogear in Safari itself. An app added to your home screen keeps its own separate sign-in.
Android
In Chrome, open Dogear, then menu ⋮ → Install app. Dogear then shows up in the share menu of every app. (Plain “Add to home screen” from other browsers doesn't add it.)
on a computer
Paste any link into post, or bring a whole Pocket, Raindrop, bookmarks, or YouTube export in settings → import.
